Client Context
HCA Healthcare brought together approximately 300 senior medical professionals, including doctors and healthcare leaders, for a full-day conference centred around the theme “Together We Grow.”
In a high-performance, high-pressure environment where collaboration and shared purpose are essential, the organisation wanted to reinforce the power of collective achievement in a memorable and uplifting way.
The challenge was to close an intense conference day with an experience that would:
- Reinforce the theme of unity and shared growth
- Energise participants after a full day of sessions
- Create a strong emotional finish before the evening reception
- Engage a large, senior audience in a meaningful and inclusive way
To deliver this, HCA Healthcare partnered with Orangeworks Catalyst Ireland to facilitate Boomtime, a large-scale musical team experience designed to transform group energy through rhythm and participation.
Program Objectives
- Reinforce the conference theme “Together We Grow”
Create a shared experience that embodied collaboration, connection and collective achievement.
- End the conference on a high-energy note
Lift the room after an intensive full-day programme, then transition participants to the evening reception.
- Engage a large senior audience
Ensure 300 participants remained fully engaged, active and connected throughout the experience.
- Demonstrate the power of unity through participation
Showcase what can be achieved when individuals come together as one coordinated group.

Program Design & Delivery
Activities: Boomtime
Participants: 300 senior medical professionals of HCA Healthcare
Format: Large-scale musical energiser (1 hour 15 minutes extended session)
Boomtime was delivered as a high-energy finale to a full conference day. At the client’s request, the session was extended to 1 hour 15 minutes to fit the programme schedule and maximise impact.
To begin, the Orangeworks facilitator introduced boomwhackers and led structured warm-up exercises. This ensured that all 300 participants felt comfortable with the instrument and confident in following instructions, regardless of musical experience.
