Catalyst Euro Zone 2016

On 7-8 July 2016, members of the Catalyst Team Building Network in Europe, gathered in Brighton for their biennial Euro Zone Conference 2016. The conference brought together 40 of the world’s best team building minds from all over Europe and the UK including Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, France, Germany, Romania, Finland, Czech Republic, Israel, Denmark, Portugal, Austria, Malta, UK and Slovenia.

Catalyst Global CEO, Guy Baker kicked off the Euro Zone 2016 by wowing the crowd with details of the group's powerful achievements over the past 12 months. Then, utilising the Go Team – Go Engage tablet based app, participants chose discussion topics including Sales: Leading with the why, becoming an influencer, targeting repeat business, learning & development, marketing and product innovation.

Corporate Social Responsibility and the power of giving

A key theme for the conference was Corporate Social Responsibility and the power of giving. Since joining the global giving initiative B1G1 8 months ago in late 2015, Catalyst Global Network has already made 225,549 B1G1 impacts! Johnny Machiels, from Event Masters in Belgium spoke of the incredible impact that B1G1 was having on their team and on their clients. The group discussed ways in which they could incorporate the power of giving even more into their businesses and participated in an active game of the new version of Go Team – Go Give. Teams ventured out into the Brighton Lanes to complete a series of challenges with the successful actions resulting in impacts to B1G1 causes! Win-Win!

At the close of day 1, as delegates relaxed with a beer or wine, they participated in the high energy tablet based activity Push It! led by energetic MC, Ramses Van Ryssen. In this through the tablet based team building activity Push It! In this high energy, totally immersive table-top activity teams battled against each other completing a series of brainteasers and physical team challenges.

Sharing and collaboration continued over dinner and drinks at The Tempest on Brighton Beach in celebration of Oran Masterton from Team Building Ireland’s birthday!

Details Make the Difference

Day 2 kicked off with a session titled “Details Make the Difference” with insightful presentations on 10 key products. Each product was presented by a specific partner whose attention to detail in sales and delivery had led to the popularity of that product in their market. Guest speaker, Andy Fieldhouse from Biz Group UAE, followed on by sharing his knowledgeable insights on targeting repeat business with the group.

After lunch European network partners participated in a demonstration game of the powerful experiential learning tool based around leadership and the popular theme of climbing Mount Everest, ‘Peak Performance’.

Networking continued long after the formal conference agenda had come to a close and is continuing online with enthusiasm and excitement on our network forum. Participants concluded that they had such a fantastic time of sharing that they plan to meet more regularly! The leadership team at Catalyst Global are excited to continue the learning and collaborative sharing when they meet with teams from Asia & Australasia at Asia Zone 2016 in Kota Kinabalu in October.

As always, I learnt so much over the couple of days and it really drove home again how powerful our amazing network is. Lots of new contacts made and hopefully some opportunities to follow. So much energy in the room too for the two days, wonderful to hear the passion that everyone has for their brand and their people!

We learned a lot and were impressed by other members of the community. Everything from the organization to individual speeches was great and well managed. Speaking for myself – it resonated with me on very personal level. The folks from other European countries were extraordinary as well as the management of Catalyst Global themselves. You're all doing an amazing job – keep it up! We hope to see you soon again in some perhaps exotic destination..!
