Silk Road is a business game based on Asian cultures, focusing on the merchants of the Ancient Orient. Each team represents a group of merchants travelling along the ancient Silk Road. Participants wore traditional silk hats and were named after towns along the Silk Road, giving the event the feel and atmosphere one would imagine encountering in an antique market in the Orient. Each merchant was issued a Chinese drawstring wallet containing jade, raw silk, horse and gold to signify wealth and, more importantly, important information about the value of the items and information about the market for these products.
This new game calls for teams to work together and tackle unforeseen obstacles through negotiation, strategic planning and risk management skills. A great program to develop a real commitment to strategic planning and learn the power of good information. This activity focuses on building trust and creating win-win situations. The way teams manage this is key to their success. The Silk Road will break down barriers and unite teams while reinforcing key principles of customer relationship management.
