Bot Creation is a dynamic and hands-on, innovative team-building experience where participants work together to design and construct a robot from a variety of available components. Each team is challenged to build a robot tailored to perform a series of tasks—some collaborative, some competitive. Using the materials provided—including MDF chassis, motors, covers, and a selection of electrical and electronic parts—teams strategise and select the right combination to meet the objectives.
After assembling their robot, teams test and refine their design to ensure it can effectively carry out the assigned tasks. The activity concludes with teams gathering to showcase their robots, share insights, and celebrate each other’s engineering and teamwork achievements.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Bot Creation encourages teams to engage in thoughtful discussion, strategic planning, and collaborative decision-making from the outset. As they brainstorm and design their robot, participants tap into creative problem-solving and resource management to tailor their build for the specific challenge. Throughout the construction and testing phases, teams apply design thinking principles to improve and adapt their robot’s functionality. The final product is a reflection of their innovation, ingenuity, and, most importantly, their teamwork's strength.
